Mike’s practice focuses on all aspects of qualified and non-qualified deferred compensation and welfare benefit arrangements for for-profit, nonprofit and governmental organizations of all sizes. These include defined benefit and defined contribution pension and profit sharing plans, employee stock ownership plans, section 401(k), 403(b) and 457 plans, section 125 cafeteria plans, deferred compensation plans subject to Internal Revenue Code Section 409A, and self-insured, fully-insured, funded and unfunded welfare benefit arrangements. He consults on plan design; preparation of plan documents; qualification of plans with the Internal Revenue Service and plan terminations. He represents clients in dealing with the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation, U.S. Department of Labor and Internal Revenue Service; provides assistance in correcting plan problems under governmental correction programs; and advises clients on COBRA continuation coverage and other health insurance and fringe benefit issues.
