IT Director
Cline Williams Wright Johnson & Oldfather, L.L.P., has an immediate opening for a driven, hardworking Information Technology Director to join our IT Team. The IT Director shall be responsible for maintaining the effectiveness and efficiency of the computer network, copiers, phones and other equipment of the firm and will supervise and train the firm’s IT team. Some travel will be required.
Skills and Educational Requirements
1. Bachelor’s Degree in a related field and 5+ years qualified prior experience.
2. Extensive knowledge of computer software, hardware and information system networks.
3. Ability to analyze complex issues and problems in all information system areas and recommend and implement solutions.
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
5. Resourcefulness and ability to work independently.
6. Ability to supervise, train and develop members of the firm’s IT team.
7. Excellent organizational skills; ability to prioritize work and handle strict deadlines and multiple tasks.
8. Attention to detail and ability to creatively problem solve.
9. Ability to anticipate, identify and analyze complex issues and problems in all technical areas and recommend and implement strategies and solutions.
10. Ability to confidently and effectively interact with clients, attorneys and other employees in a team environment.
11. Ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion and tact.
Physical Demands:
1. Occasionally must be able to lift/carry/push/pull up to 20 to 30 pounds.
2. Must maintain current driver’s license and be able to meet applicable auto insurance guidelines.
3. Must be able to safely operate a motor vehicle in the performance of job duties as necessary.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
A. General
The Information Technology Director shall be responsible for the operation of the computer network, including installing, upgrading and configuring software on the network, troubleshooting hardware and software problems on the server, network wiring, and workstations. Specific responsibilities include:
1. Maintain quality service by enforcing and following firm standards.
2. Install, upgrade, and configure software.
3. Install, upgrade, and configure hardware.
4. Create and maintain user accounts on the network, phone system, DMS, dictation system, accounting, and VPN systems according to firm security requirements.
5. Control access to the network, maintain, and monitor security.
6. Preserve firm assets by implementing disaster recovery and back-up procedures and information security.
7. Supervise the maintenance of the library of system and software documentation.
8. Monitor maintenance costs.
9. Retain and supervise consulting services.
10. Supervise and train the firm’s IT team.
11. Coordinate file transfers to clients or business associates.
12. Coordinate in-house training and support for all software.
13. Create a schedule of and perform preventive maintenance on all systems.
14. Keep abreast of new hardware and software products with possible law firm applications and advise the firm regarding the same.
15. Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational seminars and workshops, reviewing publications, and participating in professional organizations.
16. Coordinate the maintenance of warranty information and inventory records.
17. Respond to identified needs or requests from staff members and attorneys pertaining to all equipment needs.
18. Perform periodic assessments of staff and partner needs to determine the status of the firm’s information systems.
19. Make recommendations to the firm concerning all of the above.
B. Purchasing
The Information Technology Director shall coordinate with the Firm Administrator and Chairperson of the Facilities Committee regarding responsibility for the equipment of the firm. Specific responsibilities include:
1. Evaluate, recommend and select vendors based upon the philosophy of the firm and the price and quality of goods/services for budgeted operating expense items.
2. Arrange for delivery of equipment. Coordinate the installation and testing of equipment. Reconcile delivered orders with invoices and original orders. Rectify discrepancies.
3. Maintain a current inventory on all equipment assets showing date, place, and price of purchase.
C. Planning and Budgeting
1. Anticipate, foresee and plan firm IT needs.
2. Prepare an annual report, in coordination with the Chairperson of the Facilities Committee, identifying the needs of the firm and recommending areas for upgrading and enhancement.
3. Assist the Firm Administrator and the Chairperson of the Facilities Committee in the collating of data for the annual budget for acquisition of future needs in computer and communication equipment.
4. Participate in the Facilities Committee budgeting process.
5. Assist in maintaining security and disaster recovery plans
Salary range of $95,000 - $130,000 depending on experience and education, excellent benefits, including retirement plan with firm contribution, and the opportunity for professional development. Qualified individuals should submit their resume to Human Resource Director. EOE
